Testing requirements
The Ontario Fire Code requires emergency lighting to be inspected and tested on a regular schedule — routine checks plus an annual test that runs the units on battery for their rated duration. Records must be kept and available to the fire inspector. We set a schedule, do the testing, and keep the logbook current.
Exit signs
New and renovated buildings in Ontario use the green pictogram ("running man") exit sign. If your building still has red EXIT signs, a renovation or change of use is usually the trigger to upgrade — we'll tell you what applies to your space.

Questions
How often does emergency lighting need to be tested in Ontario?
The Ontario Fire Code requires periodic inspection and testing, including an annual full-duration battery test, with records kept on site. We set up and run the schedule for you.
Do I need to replace red exit signs?
Existing red signs may be acceptable in some buildings, but renovations, additions or a change of use generally require the green pictogram signs required by the current building code.
Can you fix units that failed a fire inspection?
Yes — battery replacement, unit repair or replacement, and re-testing with updated records.
